Default Dual Walbro 400 failure

Wanted to share both my 400's died in under a year on E85. These were the non-e85 pumps and well both my pumps crapped out so lesson learned. I tested them outside of the tank they run for about 30 second before coming to a stop. Really strange they failed together but if I had to guess one likely went out and the other soon followed.

My old walbro's 255s ran for over 4 years with no issues, they were also not e85 rated however worked fine.

Wanted to share this info. Make sure you run the new e85 approved pumps.

I've read of others have similar failures with use of E85. The new 450 is E85 approved.

Don't know, have to do some research but maybe those 450's.

Also always get asked how did my duals. It's not fancy, at all, but works or did anyways.

That sucks to hear. Are the 450's a direct swap for you? Are they the same size as the 400's?

That's a bummer! I'm intrested in the cause of the failures. I'm running dual 400's but running pump 91, and 112 race gas every now and then.

Have two e85 approved 450's that will be installed tomorrow. Truck hasn't really been opened up/ boosted hard for over a couple month now. I figure since it just cost me $500 to get it running, you better believe she owes me some thrills. It's like our first date together all over again.
