Default Flex fuel conversion.

04 Silverado Rcsb 5.3 Non flex. What is needed to convert to flex fuel exactly. I don't wanna run straight e85 all the time because it's sometimes hard to find. I've already got a set of flex fuel injectors. Are the fuel pump the same? And I know I need to add a content sensor is there factory wiring for it? Or will I need to add it. And can my tuner convert my pcm to work on a flex fuel setup? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No E85 is a higher Volume pump.

It depends on how you do the conversion. If you do it using a 2004 GTO File then you need to add a sensor.

If you do it like a 2006 truck, Flash in the 2006 OS and change the gas pedal and tac module for an 06 and it will work off a virtual table using the 02 sensors to make the adjustments.

Okay I can upgrade the pump to a walbro 255. And which conversion do you think would be the simplest? And if I used the Tac module & Gas pedal from an 06 would it have to be from a flex fuel truck? I don't see why it should. But just trying to clearify. And are the standard 02 sensors the same as the newer trucks? Please and thank you.

you will need to swap out any rubber seals or parts that may contact fuel. apparently ethanol will break it down. I've read in the past that lines and other affected parts are made from different materials or specially coated.
And for the record, you do know its about the most inefficient fuel available, right?

Ive also read that about the seals. And Yes I do know. But I'm tired of paying 2.27 a gallon for 93 when e85 is 1.27 here. And I plan on spraying the truck soon and from what I read e85 has a lower btu output making it a colder burning fuel and safer for the shot along with the benefits from the higher octane.

No, The 03-05 are the same but the 06-07 classic are different and have to match the OS otherwise it will go right into limp mode.

Yes, Sensors are the same.
