Perfect example there kenny...

Your truck runs like a high 8 low 9 1/8th mile?!
But on the street you beat cars/trucks that are running 7's.

Roll racing is a type of racing.

Its harder for the older generation to accept the new genres of so called drag racing/street racing. But not every car/truck is setup for the 1320.

Roll racing is done at the track as well Bill. On special occasions only though lol

Every year I go to a meet down in Houston called TX2K...
Hennessey lends his track to the event and they have 60-130 races on the last day. Most of the cars make over 1000hp and are street driven. Some of the guys only run like 10s or 11s because they can't dig race... from a roll however there are some of the underground racing lambos going from 60-130 in like 3.8 seconds or something...

Trucks stand a better chance vs anything besides another truck from a dig if the setup is right. Anyone can have a mumble jumble of parts to make power and run ***** out on the highway, but it takes a good setup to run from a dig. Sure I've raced from a roll plenty of times, take the runs I can get..lol. But when its a grudge match or a planned race, its going from a dig.

I rather race from a dig simply because I can set it to 4hi and pretty much outlaunch any car/truck around here and even if they are making more power its a catch up game till the 1/4 mile!.. im just set up to run from a dig!.. but ill run from a roll if I got no choice!..!

I do both and it really depends on the vehicle.. my trucks setup for the track no doubt, but the other truck i built was supercharged and was best at a 30 punch on the count of it would spin from a dig and rpm range was right in the middle of the powerband...

I'd rather not do it on the count of the law and most of the time idk where the hell im at incase i had to get away.

Second reason is traction, especially in trucks, once you get past 400-500hp, no street tire is going to hook from a dig, and most guys dont drive around with full slicks all the time.

Going from a dig is more fun, but from a roll is more practical for the street.
^ i think this sums it up pretty well

Meaning horsepower per pound. Come on, lets do some math...

Very much an excuse for a lack of traction. There is no way I could do it at the track, but going from 40 rolls on the street my truck will take high 11 second cars all day.
