Default 03-06 4WD Driveshaft?

Guys,
I have a vibration after my drop due to drive line angles. So far I see no real solution in getting them equal and less than 1* working angle.

Does anybody know if Chevy/GMC put 2 piece DS's in 03-06, 1500's, 4wd? Mine is a ~68" one piece aluminum. Considering swapping to a 2 piece that might allow me to adjust angles easier.

Per a Chevy High Performance response to my question about mine going to **** on me, they said they went back to 2 piece in the 06's. I can email ya the article if you like.

I wouldn't start the headach of compounding angles with a 2 piece shaft, keep it simple and work out the angle issues. Your drop is not radical so I can't see why shimming the pinion down a little (most likely) and possibly shimming the tranny/t-case up a little would fix you up. What are your angles now?

I've basically had it everywhere it will go with 1/8" shims under the tranny up to 1/2" and everywhere you can go with 2* and 4* shims in the leaf. Never getting the working angle less than 3*.

It's vibration free now until under torque and think its just the excessive working angle causing the vibration. I am hoping I can get there with a 2 piece.

I know chevyvho6000 (?) dropped 2" with shackles and never got rid of the vibration, he had a 2 piece to begin with. He relocated the carrier bearing and everything. I think thats why he got rid of his truck.... Hopefully he'll chime in and give you some info. He tried it all....

Yeah I read all the threads. Looking a little further down the line at more options. I'll get it. Just a matter of time and money I suppose.

Going to try a couple different settings on the shackles, hangers, and shims over the next few days. Maybe something will click. If not I'll have to play with the driveshaft.
