Default 04 5.3 with a 88 700r4. Help!!!!!!!!

I have a 88 700r4 from a suburban, how hard would it be to run this in my 72 blazer 2wd. The motor came with a 4l60e but I was told it being a 4x4 tranny that I would have to change the shaft to a 2wd shaft. I have the 700r4 from the 88 but what about the cables that operate the 700r4, I know the shifting linkage will work but I don't know about the kickdown or how that would work in the 5.3. Thanks in advance

Yes, you can use the 700R4. You will need some parts though. First, a crank spacer, GM#12563532 and second, crank spacer bolts, GM#12563533. You will use five of the six bellhousing bolts. You absolutely need the TV cable on the 700R4, so you will have to fabricate something to attached it to the throttle.

Where abouts are you from? I'd be interested in your 4L60E...

One thing he forgot to mention is you will need to get your PCM reprogrammed to work as a stand alone PCM.

I think I saw on here recently where someone made a cable actuated TB for the gen3's with provisions for a 700r4 kickdown cable. Maybe try a search.
