04 SIERRA AWD conversion
Hi guys, I got pretty much everything for my AWD conversion. I’m also wanting to lower this sucker. It’s a Z71 and it sets up pretty tall. I don’t think I’m going to get where I want to be by just removing the 2” blocks in the back. Looks like I need to go prob 5” in the back and 3-3.5” in the front as far as I can tell. Can some one give me some advise. Thanks…

The above thread has an old photo of my truck with purple torsion keys, rear block removed, and rear shackes.
Here is how it sits now, with Belltech spindles and Atomic coilovers in the front. In the rear, I have removed the middle leaf and still have the shackles.

If I went with the Belltech 2” drop 4x4 spindles and it’s not enough, can I finish dropping by loosening the torsion bolts ? Or should I just go strait to the purple keys…

1) just get a complete AWD front differential from the junkyard
2) get the right side AWD stub and swap it for your 4x4 one. The AWD right spider gear has a grove cut in it to hold the axle in place, I’ve heard some 4x4 spider gears don’t have this grove.
3) they make a kit that replaces the 4x4 actuator that locks it in all the time….
