Well, i got a bit of a surprise today while ordering a few basic parts for my new tranny.. Turns out i have a 4L85e sittin here. Guess i can't complain seeing as its the stronger trans with the 5 output and reaction planetary gear sets. What does worry me though is the torque converter, as this tranny sits behind the duramax usually. Its a $1500 tc in comparison to $700 from the dealer for an lq4 equipped van. Whats this thing gonna be like??? I have to find out if it will even bolt up or work, it looks right..

Rear support and exhaust completed and bolted up. Converter bolted up fine, interesting to see what it will stall at.. pretty low i'm guessing

the converter should not be too much more expensive than a built 4l60 version
