06 Sierra needs front rotors - Which should I get? - Not many choices
Brakes feel like crap.
They feel really bad most of the time, I don't need to get them real hot to get a terrible pulsating feeling from them.
It just happens almost all the time now.
I tried the E-brake test, and the rears feel fine.
Only 21000 miles.
Dealer said after 14000 mi. they won't touch them.
From what I've read, turning them won't help for long anyway.
There are not many choices for the 2006 trucks with 13" rotors.
I am running 17" stock wheels, so the 14" rotor kits won't work.
I found these
R1 concepts
Anyone ever heard of them?
I am unsure if the the more expensive set would really be any better.
I hope they aren't just modified stock castings.
Anyone have any other rotors on their 06?

R1 concepts seems to sell a lot of stuff and they have decent feedback so I would think they would be worth the price.. I would stay away from the cross drilled rotors though, everyone says they are just more likely to crack at the holes.
I am looking at possibly getting a complete set of rotors from them when my front rotors start acting up again. I just had them turned so I'll see how long that lasts. I was looking at a set that is not drilled or slotted though.
I would think you should also be able to find some brembo rotors that are either blank or slotted they should be good, but they will be more expensive.

Yer link didn't really work.
But, I got to the brembo rotors for my truck. I think
All special order, no prices
I was on the Brembo site, and found nothing for my truck.
I'll have to make some phone calls tomorrow.
My sled has brembo brakes and they are very
Gracias

you can have the rotors turned and resurface the pads for minimal cost. i dealt with that all the time when i was a tech. take some sand paper and rub the pad in a circular motion untill it gets that shiny glaze off. then put some anti-squeel on it and set them in. if the pads are grooved or tapered then you should probably buy new ones.

I'd look into Wilwood (and soon I will be!) for brakes. Next to Brembo, they're my favorite. They're available at Tbyrne, and are much more reasonably priced than Brembo products. Tbyrne had a special on them two weeks ago.
My 10k mile 06' Sierra has the same problem with the rotors (and I believe most, if not every one of these trucks do! My Dad's 01' and my old 04' were the same). The OEM rotors on these trucks are simply *****. I will say, that my friend's 2006 Nissan Titan with 19k miles had terrible rotor warping as well. It seems to be an issue with several makes of heavy trucks.

But, otherwise the 14" kit sounds great for larger wheels, the stock calipers are decent from what I've found.
