10 bolt to 14 bolt swap in 01 RCSB RWD
Before I spend $900 I wanted to confirm what all my research has led me to.
I have a 2001 Silverado 5.3 rwd with a 4l60/65E. I am putting the new built trans in this week and next week will be finishing the lowering project with hangers and a complete new rear end and suspension. As on now it has the 10bolt peg leg pos in it and with winter around the corner I figured this would be a good time to do the swap.
I found a 2007 14 bolt AXN GT4 code so its the same as a RWD SS rear end with 3.73's right?!
This will bolt right in with the exception that I will have to swap my disc brakes over and possibly a u joint conversion/yoke swap if it was out of a 4x4?
Thanks in advance!

If the code matchs the ss silverado then it should work, you can buy the older style to and just have the perchs moved out and rewelded. Whats the reason for the 14bolt swap? The stock one will take more then any built 65e could take, they are good for high 1.4s and 1000rw with a carrier and gurdel.

Sweet! Shaft most likely the issue, brakes, lines ect but nothing too major. Well it's on it's way from Texas to me here in Colorado.
I plan on building the truck ultimately, I needed a posi since its going to be my dd this winter again and just figured I I had to swap an entire rear end out I might as well do it once and put the big boy in it from the start. I hate doing things twice or three times as I always have to build my dd's in stages.
To top it off I have everything sitting around to completely redo the rear suspension/brakes that requires dropping the assembly out to replace bushing in the leafs...
So overkill, yes... But eventually a necessity.
Thanks for the info, ill post up a thread after I get all this sorted out!
