Default 14 bolt c-clip eliminators

do they make them for the 14 bolt 9.5's? and are they necessary? after breaking an axle on my 10 bolt i wanna make sure if anything happens like this again i can drive on it. i ask about the 14 bolt cause i have decided that the many who say the 10 bolt is weak are correct. i was going to try and trust it but it let me down.

You'll need to have the ends cut off and weld on ford ends. As far as I know...

Have you seen the 14bolt shafts? You arent breaking one of those unless you have huge tires and a bigger turbo.

You might not break the 14-bolt axle, but the $2 c-clip might break or come off. It's the downfall of all the popular GM rearends, and a big reason why so many serious drag racers run 9", or Dana 60's. Sure they're stronger than most stock setups, but technically, according to NHRA rules, you're not supposed to run slicks at all with c-clips.

BTW, c-clip eliminators don't last long on the street, and they're a general POS. As GMracer said above, if you're having a 14-blolt build, tell them to put Ford ends on it that'll mate with your existing GM brakes. The ends are only like $80-100.

so it does seem the ford 9" ends are the way to go. can you buy the ends or do you have to get a rear end and cut them off?

I don't think anyone makes c-clip eliminators for the 14-bolt, because there's just not really a demand for them. Hell, there's not much demand for c-clip eliminators in general. Like I said they will wear out quickly and they WILL leak. I'm talking like 3K miles here. Not fun for a street vehicle.

As for the Ford ends, call Moser. Tell them what brakes you have, axle width, etc. and that you'll be going to a 14-bolt. If they don't have a housing end that'll work, they'll make you one. They typically use a tapered roller bearing too.

they made it sound like i would have to swap brakes and wheels or drill new brakes for my wheels.... and all kinds of ****. so i may just stick with the clips. do they make stronger ones?
