Are the brake lines the same size as well? I have a stainless brake line kit and would like to be able to use it on the back as well.

Yes the calipers owuld fit the same way mine did. You can see how the brake assembly is at a slight angle in the picture.
so basicaly the brake assembly just has to be rotated a bit to work right?.. i thought that it was tilted inboard which would tire ware and a lot of handling issues. i know disc brakes are designed to have there calipers set to a certain angle depending on front or rear to maximize there ability.. have you noticed any change in performance from the relocated angle of your calipers?...
btw, thanks for the reply.

Not sure on the brake lines. My rear came complete with brake lines attached to it.

The brakes are not tiled at all. I would not have done the swap if the was the case because it would effect handling and traction. Disk brakes are designed to have the calipers in a certain position, but I think the change in location is very minimal. Also, I dont think a lot of braking power comes from the rear brakes anyway. The truck stops the same.

I have about 1000 miles on the rear with no issues. I have also done some 200 foot holeshots on the factory G80. LOL I know I know, I need a good LSD.

For those wondering on the 14 bolt rear RPO, the code is AXN (it's looked up as the hybrid axle meaning 3/4 rear for a 1/2 ton). The trucks with the LQ9 engine 05' and later had the 14 bolt stock (except the 05' awd SSS). This includes the VHO, Vortec Max, and Silverado SS. You'll find the 3.73 gear in the 2wd's and 4.10 gear in the 4x4's.

I had one of my friends run a locator for salvage yards on these today. There are 2 on his locator, I believe both in Texas.

not totaly true zippy, all 4x4's were 4.10's and most 2wd's were 3.73's but depending on which V-max you got (there were 2 available) you could get 4.10's the performance edition was a SS in sheeps clothing.. and the performance package (what i have) was a heavy duty 1/2 ton.. it came with 4.10 gears, raised suspension front and back, duel ride control.. a button that controls the shock stiffness for added trailer control and handling, and was rated to tow 10,400lb's.
i'm sure theres a couple things i'm forgetting but thats the some of it.

The only 2wd I list that had a 4.10 gear option was the SSS and that was only in around 05' or so. I can go up front though to the build computer and check for sure.

nobody believed me on sss.com either, but theres an old thread on there with a pic of the sticker in my glove box, and it's a gt5. do you have a way of telling how many trucks like mine were built?..

I wish I did. It would be easy for someone at GM to track it, but it's rare to get them to do anything like that.

Working for the dealer can be nice. Going back through the records the Vortec Max if ordered with the "Max Performance Pack" came with the 4.10 gear standard in the extended cab and in the crew cab came with 3.73 gear/optional 4.10. Your info pretty much matches what I'm showing. It would be interesting to see how many 06' B4V's are even built.
