Cool

The 1500HD and 2500LD have the 9.5" semi floating rear 14 bolt and depending on the year you can get discs. The problem is they are 8 bolt not 6.

I heard you can swap out the axels from a 8 lug 14 bolt to a 6 lug 14 bolt. That what I am going to do.

You can pull the axles and swap the backing plate a rear disc backing plate.
The bolt up procedure is the same as the 99-04' model GM trucks.
You can swap over the disc hardware onto your 14 bolt axle.
Baer Brakes makes a rear disc conversion kit for the 05' & up 1/2 ton trucks that have the rear drum brakes.
If you look at the hardware kit, you will see that is a lot of factory components to do the conversion.
The kit is about $1200.
I guess there are a few different ways to do this conversion, but it can be done without getting rid of your rear axle.
