1996 Silverado x-cab LQ9 and built 4L80 needs to stop...
So I FINALLY got my LQ9 and 4L80 working correctly (all gauges) in my old 1996 2wd Silverado. I put a cowl induction hood on, a GMC grill, new headlights and tail lights and went for a ride. I'm in Southern Georgia, so I QUICKLY realized 2 things: I need to put air back on this thing (will order the Dirty Dingo Sanden kit next week) and it doesn't stop that well.
I can go scrap yard hunting for a Hydroboost system (steering pump and master cylinder), or I can convert the rear drums to discs and upgrade the front (if I can find a reasonable kit)...or I can do both.
It runs fine, everything works (Thanks to the guys at Spartan LSX Performance for straightening out my "professionally built harness").
What's the best route to make this big old girl stop? Right now, she's using vacuum assist off the back of the LQ9, but she DOES have a 3 port power steering pump for hydroboost.
I've been looking around on the internet and all the rear disc conversion kits are for old GM cars...or 14 bolt rear ends. I'm thinking mine is a 10 bolt with 3.42 limited slip. I'm loving that gear with the 4L80...merging in traffic at speed is a non-issue. People don't expect that old girl to hike up her skirt and move like that.
Help with brake suggestions please!

I did NBS knuckles and brakes on my 2000 (OBS) Tahoe, along with the NBS master cylinder. Brakes are far and away better than stock, but the bias still isn't ideal. I've done a lot of research and spent a lot of time, and this is what I would recommend.
Option 1:
Fresh pads, rotors, lines, shoes and make sure the shoes are adjusted properly.
Option 2:
All of the above but give the NBS master cylinder a try. The brakes "feel" a lot better because the sponginess is eliminated, but whether or not it actually decreases stopping distance is up for debate.
Option 3:
NBS front brakes, NBS rear disc, eliminate the OBS ABS system.
Option 4:
fresh pads, rotors, stainless lines, rear drum adjustment, 2500 OBS hydroboost.
I will be doing the NBS rear disc on my OBS to compliment the 02 Escalade front brakes I installed, as the fronts have slightly too much bias.
