local built trans its built by a VERY reputable builder around here. I have been completely unimpressed. I dont know the brand of converter, 2400 stall. From a company he has been using for a while. The first converter that let go was a rebuilt PTC. Im really thinking and 80e swap from a sponser.....
yea and i had a very respectable builder build mine 4 times too....the cure was a FLT LEVEL 5.problem was solved!!!!!

Who did the work???? TJ at the chevy house did mine in the truck, and all he did was order a new one under warranty, and install a TCI rebuild kit which included clutches, shift kit, servo. That tranny is still going strong, and it has been 25,000 miles with a heads/cam LS1. The reason for a new tranny was the converter I had in it. Lock up clutches burnt up, in return burnt up the tranny. When tranny was replaced, I put a Pro Yank in it, and everything was fine. I think his coverter's that he has been using "forever" might be the problem. Get a converter that is made for boosted applications, not one that is probably made from a company that still thinks 3/4 cams are the ****!

Broke the input sprag. Now what?? Go back with the same components and expect results?? He says he doesnt use the stock one. Said he uses an upgraded one that is double caged or something.

Yank TT3000 solved all those problems...
Dam I assure you its on my mind. Gonna see what happens when i talk to the builder tomorrow. The more I research it, the more i DONT want an 80e, seems to me the bottom end sucks, top end is good. And Looks to rob around 50 horses, holy ****... Plus build a crossmember, fix a few pcm pins....
Crossmember is the hardest part but its not bad.
The bottom end is dissapointing with a stock TC but top end rocks!! A lil 50shot got mine moving off the line just fine.
I say go for it!!

jsut to finish this for reference, the input sprag was rolled. Everything else showed to be perfect. So we went back with a new 2 cage one, same as last time and are hopeing for better results obviously. Hit the track on friday
