On my previous 05 RCSB, I did the 2/4 McGaughy's drop with 2" front drop spindles. When I bought the truck, it came with some 17" MB Motoring wheels. After installing everything, when you would turn about 60-70%, it would start to rub on the inner barrel of the wheel. This was fixed by going to 20" wheels.

I remember seeing it stated somewhere (don't remember exactly) that some aftermarket 17" wheels will rub, and most OE 17" wheels will clear just fine.

I currently have an 04 RCSB Sierra that came with the 16"s, and looking for an inexpensive 17" wheel to throw on there so I can drop this truck.

Anyone have experience doing the 2/4 with the stock 17" wheels? I will prob be using the McGaughy 2/4 kit again if that matters with clearance issues.

I run the McGaughy spindles and stock 17" wheels. You'll have to cut the ball joint stud right at the bottom of the nut. But it will go lock to lock without any rubbing. That's on shorter wider 275/60's.

Yeah, I had to cut that and a little bit more to get enough turning radius to get it home on the last install.

The wheels you have are the exact ones I am looking at right now on my local craigslist.
