2" Lowering Blocks
Has anyone one used lowering blocks, on their truck, I know the 4x4s use them to raise the vehicle, can you use the same kit and reverse it to lower the rear of the truck.
Do lowering blocks limit your towing capacity??
Would you use rear 2" shackles over a 2" lowering block??

Suspension blocks would raise your truck. They go between the axle and the springs and sense our axles are below the springs, it would raise the truck. They do have flip kits to put the axle above the springs but I think that lowers it about 5". There are really only 2 options, shackles and springs. The shackles are much cheaper and easy to install. Just remember that if you have a hitch, it needs to be lowered to get some of the bolts through. I just loosened all the bolts on my hitch and pulled down on it as I ran the bolts though.

I have a 2000 Z-71 so I just removed the blocks from the bottom and put them on top and it gave me a 2 1/2" drop in the rear. You can adjust the torsion bars in front to get the truck to sit level. No change in ride quality or noise. It works fine. Just rember to go back and tighten the four nuts on each side after the first 500 miles you drive. They tend to loosen.
