I am not a pro, and this is only what I've read.
YES! Please make sure you have him put GM 5 pinion planetaries in your transmission. There is a reason they are 3x more expensive than the china ones. Mine ate it self.

The 4L60e is CPT's bread and butter. This isn't your typical local trans guy who does a $2000 "rebuild" consisting of junk parts and a shift kit.

Many LT1/LS1 guys run his builds and I personally never heard of one going back due to a failure. I recommend if anyone questions the parts he uses and why, just call or email him. I wouldn't be going back if I heard negative reviews. No idea what planetaries he uses but judging by his personality and how particular he is with these builds, I'd bet it's not "Made In China." He does have a reputation to uphold lol.

So just a quick update. Got off the phone with CPT this afternoon to find out what other carnage happened. The sun shell's teeth were sheered off, which is what he expected when you lose 2, 4, and Reverse gears.

The reverse drum needs to be replaced as the band broke and took the housing with it. The planetary pinions have wobble so that will also be replaced.

I didn't ask what brand the plantaries he uses are. He just said that he recently switched suppliers and heavily discounted when buying in bulk. He has yet to see a failure with em. I assume they are aftermarket.

These are the only two "hard parts" that I'm paying extra for, aside from the NSS and misc hardware/fluids.
