Default 2002 4l80E no Rev or OD

Guy brought me his truck complaint was no reverse or OD. Pulled it out found forward clutches welded together, replaced forward housing and mold piston. The forward housing was a used part from the trans parts store. Replaced all other clutches and seals reused TC. Test drove no issues... Gave the truck back, 2 weeks later same complaint.... What did i miss?

Thanks for you input.

Knowing nothing about transmissions, I'd say that you missed the forward housing.

Knowing a little bit about transmissions, did you check the line pressure after the rebuild?

Making a complete guess, but would it have been necessary to clear the adaptive shift learning tables when you installed the clutches? I'd so, did you do that?

You reused the torque converter. Most trans shops won't warranty a build with out a torque converter. It holds a ton of fluid full of burned clutch material. It is impossible to drain that **** out. So all that crap went right through the system again

Yes i agree with you Rekeever. Im not a trany shop just side work. When i first got the truck the fuild was clean and nothing in the pan. The customer said no one have opened her up. 2 weeks later same issues and fluid is perfect and nothing in the pan as far as clutch material or metal.
