Default 2004 GM Sierra 2500 HD

Good Day all. I need some help. Unfortunately due to money problems i let some problems in my transfer case get to the point where it is toast and take my transmission with it. Lesson learned. What could of been a small problem sooner or later turns into something major. My truck is a 04 Sierra 2500 HD automatic transmission. Not sure what transmission it is but the transfer case is a 263 hd. My brother has a 2002 Yukon XL that he doesn't need with a blown engine. The trans and transfer case is like brand new but is a 246. Please can anyone tell me if I can use it on my truck.
Thank you

You have a 4L80e in your truck, your brothers truck being only a half ton is going to have a 4L60e and won't work.

The 4L80e is a much much stronger unit than the weak 4L60e.

Depending on what you can find and rebuild costs, I would just have the 80e rebuilt and source another transfer case.

Well after your reply i went and seen this Yukon and your right. It is a half ton. Thanks Man. Looks like it might be cheaper to fix that. At least it's a GM. Lol
