Default 2006 Silverado Traction

I am sure this has been beat to death... but can not find my exact scenario.

I have an 06 CC Z71... and looking to get rid of the damn axle wrap... any sand and she hops. Also the rear end clunk when you take off is due to the springs wrapping.

Does anyone have any caltracs or assassin bars on a 4wd stock height or leveled Silverado / Sierra?

Just worried they may look out of place on the truck.. It's not a race vehicle or wanna be lol... just want it to be functional and look clean.

I appreciate the time!

If you're worried about looks, you could try spring clamps to keep the leafs from separating under load. It's more of a band-aid than cal-tracs, but they work in lighter duty applications. Cal tracs are more beneficial in hard launch applications.

Here's a link with photos.

I used these on a 4.3 Blazer back in the day and it solved my similar issue.

Yes, I actually have this done... I used that EXACT writeup for the idea hahahahahaha. It helped.... but it still hops some and I just feel like it's not the most complete fix hahahaha.

Thanks for that!

Traction bars. Either calvert or assassins. They will look fine being on a 4x4. They will definately cure all the wheel hop!

10-4!

I feel like the Caltrac will look cleaner since the front bracket is a bit smaller and black... but I like the idea of the assassin not having to take out the bushing on the spring.

Default Cal Trac

I left in the factory bushing, they still
work good.,I also used the kit for a
lowered truck, they hug the spring
closer. harder for anyone to notice.

now that is interesting. Did you use the stock bolt from the spring or new one from Cal?

Also did it make a big difference with axle wrap on yours?

A custom Built Torque arm will also cure all of your issues. I was hell bent on Function, and STOCK factory look so I built my own Torque arm, and let me tell you, Not a hint of wheel hop. Big power, little power, Drag radials, street tires, doesn't matter. Find a chassis builder to do one. You will never know its there. Factory Leafs and a torque arm, the torque arm has to be Bushed with a shackle at the front. Its not a common method but works well.
