Default 24" rims.....

Alright guys,
I just wanted to get some opinions from ya'll. I am running 22's right now and i was looking for another set of 22's in black on ebay when i noticed there are alot of 24's on ebay for a decent price. Would 24's even be practical for a daily driver? Could you even run a drop on 24's? Im guessing you would have to upgrade your brakes due to the difference in weight for those heavy *** rims. What do yall think and would yall suggest tryin to run 24's on a daily driver?

Just looking for some opinions.

In my opinion, no way. You gotta be too careful with them to keep from bending them when you drive. Tires are WAY too expensive....I dunno, just not worth it at all to me. I have known plenty of guys around that got big wheels, bend them all on potholes, cry about buying tires, etc. But thats just my opinion, and thats what you asked for.

I believe that the front cant have any type of drop because the tire will rub. Had a friend with a 2/4 drop and the 24's didn't fit in the front, but I think the back was okay.

24's are way too big for a daily driver. You will have too many tire balance problems. You could get a decent size tire and have enough tire sidewall but there is no guarantee that you won't rub the fenderwells. Besides, performance will suffer dramatically and your gas mileage will decrease....and everyone wants good gas mileage today.

Ok then. Thanks for the info guys. I kinda figured id get that response but i thought id ask anyways. 22's i think look great and i can still use a 2/4 drop with them and have enough rubber around them to protect them. Ill just stick with runnin 22's and a 2/4.

man , your truck looks sweet the way it is! it's hard to leave something alone when you like to modify things but resist the urge, your truck is perfect the way it is IMO.

This is mine with the 24's and a 2/4 drop and yes it would rub so I just used them for a couple of weeks then put them back on the escalade.

There's a black crew cab around my nieghborhood runin' 24's with only 2in drop shackles in the rear. You can run'em but at stock height seems to be no rubbing issues.

JJ_NLTO: Thanks for the pics man! The rims look huge on your truck but i can definitely see why they would rub. lol

Gran Patron: Yea man, i saw a white Excab at the movies the other night runnin 24's with rubber band tires and 2" shackles in the rear and it looked great. The only thing is that i would rather run 22's so i can have more rubber around the rims and still run a 2/4 drop.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I am going to stick with 22's and a 2/4 for my plans. Now i just gotta decide if i wanna keep my 22's or sell em and get a set of black ones with the polished lip (RT-S) wheels. Everyone seems to like the ones i have now and i think they look great so i may just keep em.
