2nd gear sucks. :(
i notice all the time that when i shift into 2nd' it feels like there is no tq and hp at all.
I had a few races tonight. 1st was 3 wide from a dig vs. a 02 sierra(stock) and a 05 Silverado(programer, and cold air). I started a little too early(woops) but spun bad to 2nd'. but When i shifted into 2nd it felt like a dog and i got passed up and lost by a truck at 90 mph against the 05 silvy.(not enough road for 3rd gear )
What can i do to help my 1st to 2nd shift get better. would a stall converter help much? or servo.
and if you want to know i raced from a 30 vs the 05 silvy he jumped me a bit and i couldnt catch up. then another from a 30 where i tried to keep it in 1st(experimentin) but it shifted to 2nd automaticly before the launch. SO i kept it in first seein its in 2nd gear anyway hopin just to downshift like always but apparently it didnt work that way soo that just sucked.
Then later a big jeep on big ole tires rolled up and reved it a little. we got up to about 45 mph and takes off. I look at my buddy in the passenger seat and take off and also take off and of course take him a few truck lengths at about 65-70 if not even that. And a F150 comes up too. at about 25 mph.(it sounded terrible) he takes off, then i take off and win by a few trucks at about 60 mph. lol that was my night.

yeah the second gear falls on its face in my 60E.... a stall will remedy allot of that.... i now the feeling.... grabs second and its dead..... once i hit 60mph or so i can literally see the speedo picking up much faster..... a stall will take care of most of that.... a stock stall just keeps you out of your power band for tooooooo long.....

If your on the stock vertor then a higher stall will help ya in second gear as it will allow for a longer shift extension.Basically it gets you higher in the rpm band where you make more power.
Ashift kit to control your shifts would be as well as you take the overall control away from teh computer making you upshift into second when you want/need first.

You need a custom Nelson tune first off! Ditch the Hypershit.
A 2nd gear vette servo, TG shift kit, and a TB (trail blazer) stall converter will help you out a lot! Cheap upgrades too.
You'll love the difference.

You get a TrailBlazer stall from a regular TB.Not the v8 one.I forget the motor size....i think it was a inline5 but i could be thinking of something else.In any event you want the convertor from a TrailBlazer with the smaller motor. From GM which is where you gotta get it unless you get one from a member or something of that nature it will cost ya $315ish with tax.
The shiftkit can be bought from ebay for i wanna say 80bucks.The servo is about 20bucks i belive you can also get it from ebay.

Most of what you guys are noticing is torque management, the PCM is pulling fuel and timing to protect your transmission.Any good tuning software can remove all or part of your torque management.A big convertor or hard shifting servo or kit can sometimes make things worse.
