Default 3.23 to 4.11 or 4.10 swap

ive got a 2006 crew cab, i love the 3.23 for highway crusing, but i have the slowest and most pathetic take off. i wanna go with a 3200 or less stall, since i still do some heavy hauling, but i wanna get some lower gears. what all is required for the 3.23 to 4.11 swap, and where can i find the parts? lol having some trouble locating them. also is this a good set up with a approximate 3200 stall? thanks in advance for suggestions and answers!

awesome thats exactly what im looking into with the same truck, but im still running the 4.8. where did you buy all your parts, and about how much did the set up cost? happy with the take off from a stop now? cause i cant even bark a tire from a stop with worn out factory tires... pretty sad IMO. lol

Even with my 6.0 i had a hard time braking the tires losse but now traction is a problem and it reves up fast its going to wake your 4.8 up. As for cost its hard for me to say cuz i did my tranny converter and posi all at the same time give chris at circle d a call for the converter and as for gears i picked them up at a local shop for $200 bucks

Look for Ron Machining Services, he's a sponsor here and he'll hook you up with whatever you need. I'd also get a LSD while you're installing the gears, one wheel fire sux.

You'll like the gearing, it's really noticeable on take off

4.10 is the perfect ratio with a converter for the street/strip imo. Are you going with a posi?

well thats another question, my truck has the G80 code, factory LSD, and never in the entire time of ownership have i had this truck one tire fire. it may slip time to time in some wet grass with one tire in it one on pavement, but you give it just a hair of gas, and it locks up tight. so i was gonna stick with it, unless the factory lockers are just poor excuses? im not sure how itll handle under a 3000+ stall...

secondly, its never had the **** to burn tires without rain... so on dry pavement it might not lock up... lol

if anyone who has 4.11 or 4.10 gears give me some numbers on the rpm at like 50,60, and 70mph crusing 4th gear, that would be highly appreciated.
