Ill try and find the pics of the G80 we replaced this weekend..
it had 2 fractures and the cross pin could be pulled out without turning it

the splined pin with the weights were stripped off and metal everywhere.

Best bet is just to go ahead and get a Trutrac or Eaton LSD.. good insurance.

so on a quick note a little off subject, around 2 months back, it was raining, and i punched it from a red light, and my g80 didnt lock and fried one tire to about a 70mph spin. it didnt randomly lock mid spin or anything, and has worked fine ever since, doesnt slip, locks as soon as it spins in grass the least bit, etc etc like im assuming it should. by my understanding they lock up by torque? could this one random one tire fryer outburst be that it was just so slick on the road ( which this was a VERY slick spot. accident and spint outs all the time. REAL bad, plus the rain...) that it wasnt causing enough resistance to lock it up? maybe it was already spinning to fast to even try and lock? or is this like a first sign of failure??..... lol the 4.11's are about to go in, any signs of visible wear i should look for?
