its a weak clutch pack...the 3-4 is the weak link in the 4l60/700r4, the only real solution is a shift kit and better clutch pack

How many clutches in your 3-4 pack? I asked about this when ordering my FLT Level 5 trans.
Some info here: http://transmissioncenter.net/competition.htm

Having more clutches and steels doesnt always help because the thinner the steel the less heat capacity it has, when they get too hot, they start to slip and when they slip they burn. More is better to a point, but too many isnt ideal.

Not enough line pressure???
Shift kit should help, along with aftremarket parts, maybe Kolene steels? The lasrgest trans cooler you can fit.

Think it's time for a lighter right foot or better transmission builder!

this is stock. not great for performance. even the stock 4L65E comes with 7. i'd recomend the z-pack or the raybestos blue plate series. with a good shift kit, propper install, and the right clutch selection you shouldn't have a problem.
