Default 3.73 to 4.10 swap

Im getting 4.10 gears instead of my factory 3.73 but i want to know are they going to be more noticeable than a Dynatech headers?

regarding the gears i want to know if these gears will fit and work fine on my truck?

4 wheel parts dot com

and is it safe to use my factory g80 or get an eaton better? (my truck is an 08 silverado 4WD)

try randy's ring and pinion
Stay with the OEM mfg gears and get rid of the G80...too many have detonated to leave it.

Dont worry man they only took 250$ FOR INSTALLING the gears for a friend of mine.

Cant find a whole package i think im going with the 4wheelparts.com package and im going with the eaton as well.

In which can i feel the difference in the 4.10's or the the headers?

and can I only install the rear gear rather than both of them or im going to face problems with my 4WD?

You won't noticde that much difference with 4.10's unless going from a 3.42. You should take into consideration what future mods you're planning on adding to your truck. I'm running 4.10's with Eaton posi, 3200 stall and 25.6" tires and losing HP on top end obviously due to the tire size. I'm going to pull the 4.10's out on go with 3.42's again to gain top end. 3.73's gears are excellent and if you add a cam, headers and a stall you'll be surprised what a difference they'll make. I went through 20 plus bottles of nitrous and 490 rwhp on my G80 and the only reason I pulled it was for better traction and the added cal-tracs. The G80 was still like new. It's moreless a crap shoot with anything mechanical and added fatigue from horsepower. I'd look at tire size vs. future mods, etc.....before installing the 4.10's. Not to mention you'll save a little in gas mileage with the 3.73's.

Good Luck!

I went from 3.73's to 4.10's in my Avalanche and the difference was VERY noticeable. I would do it again in a heartbeat. One other thing to note is my gas mileage went down about 2 mpg at cruising speed, if that is important to you.

I'd say stay with your factory gears, for now! I'd do the headers first if you have the cash.

A 3000 stall will be fine for daily driving, what brand did you go with?
