35s and 4.10 gears
i have a 05 2500hd 6.0
it has 4.10 gears stock but i have 35" tires on it now
when i tow my 24' car hauler it shifts out of over drive a lil more now going up hill
is that 4.10 ok for 35s?
i still need 2 get it reprogrammed and i was going 2 and a CAI, 160 stat and a magnaflow muffler
what u think about that

6.0 aside, I agree on the gears. Both folks I know who've gone with 35's have upgraded to 4.56:1 gears. Neither of them tow on a regular basis, so in your case I'd consider doing this sooner rather than later.
If you're going with a 22" Magnaflow, I think you'll be fine. Over time, as the packing breaks down, you'll hear some resonance...but the cab wall should isolate most of the noise. The 6.0L does make muffler selection a bit tricky, and I'm imagining you climbing a hill with that trailer behind you...definitely a recipe for nasty drone. Another one you might consider is the Flowmaster BBII 70 Series.

should i try the CAI, muffler and tune first ??
all the shift points are off due 2 the 35's
i was going 2 do them anyway??
and then if still needed i can do the 4.56's after and update the tune

If you skip the CAI, muffler, and tune in lieu of the gears you will be much happier (and so will your truck). Then if you're still wanting more go for the other stuff. New gears will give you the most of what you're looking for.

Just getting the tranny tuned would make a huge difference. I've been running 35's/4.10's on mine for a few months. The first week or so I used the stock settings waiting on my hpt. After doing some tranny tuning it drives better than stock.
I do agree gearing will give you the most for your bucks. I personally have no intentions of regearing mine. If you do alot of towing I would do gears and a tune.

I think you would be happy with either set. I would go 4.88's if I was going to change. Then you could go to a bigger tire later as well, and not be undergeared all over again. You should still try to get a tune as well.

here in the mountain with 4:10's on a stock tired truck it shifts out of over drive all the time. With a car trailer behind it its either 2800 rpms at 75mph or 6,000 rpm at 75 when going up hills.
I have 373's and and going to run 4:56's with 33.5" tall tire. That would give a gear ratio of 4:10... but again i live in the hills.
I'd say a set of 4:88 would put you back to feeling stock.
