Default 3600 stall too much?

I'll be ordering a converter next, and have been told that tc's are like gears where people are afraid of going too far, but when they get it in wish they would've gotten more. The cam I'll be installing is a TR220 112LSA. I was thinking a 3200 would be perfect, but was recently informed that a 3400-3600 would be a little more beneficial and would actually brake stall closer to 3200.
What do you guys think? and would it be ok to install the converter even before the cam goes in and be streetable?

You are in a rc correct? I have driven and rode in rc's with 3600 converters. Every one was a yank 3600 but man they feel great. Take off is around 2000-2400 rpms which for a stall that size is not bad at all.
I have a TR220 in my 04 ECSB and i just put a yank pt 3200 in her. The stall does great but if you peddle it then mash on it you really feel the cam come to life at about 4 grand then you are just planted at 4500 like no tomorrow.
Basically if this truck was a RCSB and i had the same cam i'd roll the Yank 3600.
But since i'm a bit heavier the 3200 works great for me.

All in all a 3600 stall is very streetable and if it were me i'd run the 3600. If you get a 3200 in the RCSB your gonna wish you had those extra rpms for launch and shift extentions.
Also you can run that stall without a cam just fine. IMO the stock cam needs a 3600 stall so it won't be such a dog on take off.

I would suggest a performabuilt 3500 if you have never had a stall

Whats she flash to? I almost never hear people say thier fuddle is too tight hehe.

I say 3600 or nothing at all. A RCSB likes them 3600stalls alot. Great streatablity and funfunfun.

Not sure about the flash cuz i have no traction by that point and on the track im usually paying more attention to whats in front of me. it only brake stalls to about 22-2300 before breaking them loose.

I hear ya. With the 3200 i'm running now i can't give it more than 1/4 peddle in first and it starts to spin. Best i can do is ease it down and once it starts to grab slowly roll into it which would indicate i am closer to a 3500-3600 stall.
Anything over 1/4 quickly is useless in first gear lol.
No track runs yet but i'm thinking 12's won't be very hard with this new setup.

2200-2300 seems a little low though. Break stalling mine it starts to spin at about 2600rpms for me just to have a basis to go by and mine should be a 400rpm less converter so ya thats a tight little hooker.

hopefully bluecajun will post up. he's currently running the TR220 and a yank 3600 stall. he told me once that he loves it and that he could daily drive it if he wanted. he used to have a fuddle 3K stall, but upped it to the 3600 stall for the shift extensions.

I'm running a Yank SS3600 in my extended cab with 4.10's and a custom 224/227 cam and I DD it with no problems at all... Its a great converter... really comes alive on the bottle as well.
