Default 37's with 3.73 gears

I have a question.....I have a new DD, its a 04 extcab 4wd with 6" lift, 35's and 3.73's. I want to run 37's w/a 3" bodylift but, don't want to change the gears and locker out yet. Would it hurt the Tranny to run 37's w/ 3.73's? or anything else? Thanks fellas.

dude youre already down on gear. with that added size in tires you wil lbe around 324s, no where near enough gear for those. 430s or 456 would be much more better for you

Yup. What he said. You are already hurting for gear. I am over tired with 32" & 3.73's.

Could I swap out the gears with 4.56's and not have to change out the Locker?

yes but also remember with that much added weight of the tires, you put more stress on the axles themselves. i would look at upgrading to a stronger axle which means stonger carrier

I think you need more gearing than even the 4.56 gearing with that big of a tire. 4.56's work great with 35" tires. You need a lower ratio gear than 4.56.

Thanks for the Input guys! I guess I will just run 20's and 35's, until I can get the Rear end stuff done.
