That's good to hear...maybe I'll be able to experience a trutrac in the snow by next winter

with the g80 my truck would just go sideways in the snow.....in my short experience with the trutrac it guides the truck forward better. I think maybe the G80 unlocks when the wheels spin at a certain speed which isn't so good. Actually I'm pretty happy with the trutrac because there's one time tonight when im pretty sure I would have been stuck with the g80 lol.

Regarding the 4.10s, damn, I'll take back what I said a little, I really like them. It took all my willpower not to mash on it, but even from a 2nd gear brisk quick acceleration to 2500 rpm you could really feel the torque. Probably the thing I'm most happy with is the fact that my truck doesn't die getting on the highway anymore when the 'verter locks. It has much better pickup down low in 4th gear now.

The G80 slid because both back tires were locked and turning causing your truck to slide. The trutrac kept your truck straight because I'm willing to bet the left rear was only turning with half as much torque as the right rear, if that.

And the end result is that the trutrac yields superior performance. It's also the most proven limited slip on this site. If I wanted both tires locked solid I would have got a locker.

Also, just as advertised, the Trutrac's operation is SEAMLESS, you don't even know its back there. The G80 has a tendency (at least mine) to clunk when it engages.

Holy hell folks. I finally got around to getting the proper tune in for the 4.10s. Charlie did up my shift points to 6000 or so, but god damn, this things pulls so hard now. I have no clue what was different, but the truck wasn't running right with the 3.42 tune, almost like timing was being pulled, I don't know. I love these 4.10s!!! Everyone says you lose highway pull, but crap, this thing flies on the highway now. Pulls way harder and faster to 100 than with the 3.42s.

The truck with taller gears will feel lighter, that's all. Switching to 4.10's over 3.42's is the same as dropping 5" in tire height. You haven't magically created more torque out of nothing for free, all you've successfully done is change your final drive ratio. It's just a matter of gear multiplication.

At any given speed the 4.10s are transferring roughly 20% more torque to the wheels than the 3.42s at the slight expense of gas mileage and the ability to go over 120ish.

Don't forget you're going to zip through your gear changes more quickly now. Your 6.0L isn't going to have as much time to pull against the prime 4L60 gears (2nd and 3rd) like it used to enjoy doing. In other words, it would be sort of like shifting into 1.5 and 2.5 now instead of 2nd and 3rd.

With my taller than stock tires it's perrfect. I love how much quicker it gets thru the gears.
