so true, sometimes i wish i would have went to ladder bar, but in the same sense i have no issues on the street with a 4 link, i adjust my shocks accordingly and everything rides just fine

I plan to leave all the welded in cross-members and brackets for the 4 link in place, so If I want to, I can unbolt the leafs and bolt in the coilovers and link bars. Legal problems within my own state are pushing me to put leafs back in as well.
If all you want the truck for is dragging, then go for it.

sounds like you have issues with how its setup, im betting your spring rate is something rediculous, just cause you put it on does not mean its gonna work like it should and obviously it does not, there are many variables
with proper rate and valving you should have no problems, the spring is there to only hold the weight of the truck the valving in the shock is what controls the shock movment, if you linked your truck and the rear sags under acceleration then its not set up right
leafs are primitive technology compared to links

A properly setup 4link/3link is far superior to any leaf style suspension. They handle better and ride better on the street. If it doesn't then its done wrong.

I agree, especially if it uses bushings instead of spherical rod ends.

Someone made the comment "why are we trying to talk him out of a 4-link". It all comes down to economics basically. If the OP has the money and sources the job to someone that knows what they're doing then it's a great idea. If the OP isn't looking to spend $2-$3k (it could be done for a little less depending on the quality of the tubing ends, 4-link kit and shocks) on the rear suspension and only needs it to 60' in the 1.6+ range consistantly then there is no need IMO. You don't even need cal-tracs for that. Just a quality shock and good geometry.

I am happy with my 4 link. and I used an airride. If i wanted to I could easily replace the bags for coil over setup
