Yeah, I could do with a little less fixing it and a little more driving it. I did drive it from Weatherford to Pigeon Forge and back, everything worked awesome but shifting got a little hard on the way back, still trying to figure that out. But i did drive the truck down Tail of the Dragon, it did ok for a truck but a 4 link or just a better rear suspension in the back would have been way better.

as mentioned at the beginning, the 4link rear is one of the only differences between Dodge 3/4ton & 1ton from 2014+... and most report that the ride ain't THAT much different. since you ain't worried about payload or high lateral forces with a bunch of weight in the back, it sounds like coils on the solid axle would work alright for your purposes.

as for GMT800s: look into the 2003 Silverado SS RCSB concept. GM welded in a Tahoe axle & suspension in place of the normal truck rear end components... which says it's doable with factory parts. the bigger question is as asked above: is it worth it when you can get a better-performing aftermarket kit for the same amount of work?

Better kit for same amount of work sounds like it is probably worth it to me.
price point may matter to some…

and while i'm happy with the ride of my coiled dodge, i can't really do a great leaf comparison from my last truck because the GMC was 3000lb lighter & for the last 10yrs, had basically the same E range tires i've got now... so to say my new truck rides smoother is a little artificial.

That ride-tech bolt-on 4-link looks nicer by the day...

Just put one on my truck! Liking it so far, vastly better ride than the leafs it replaced. I was able to keep my sway bar surprisingly. Used Viking shocks instead of Ridetech.

Good amount of work to install, but I’m a novice and slow.

I'm thinkin about it. I have a few projects I just gotta decide which ones I want to do first.

I have the atomic shock relocation, do you think that those would work well for this? I would just need to get the coils and probably some new shocks.

If you are referring to using Atomics shock relocation with ridetech’s 4 link then, no. The kit moves the shocks outside the frame rail, and actually uses the driver side stock axle shock mount to attach the panhard bar. Didn’t take many pictures during the install, this at least shows coilover position.

Yes, I cleaned the cab wall before we put the bed back on, stupid pollen.

Ah thank you I was curious about where that would go.
I only recently started thinking about a 4 link after I did the shock relocation. Didn't think it was very feasible for me in terms of bolt-ons and was not sure if that was the direction I wanted to go. Now I am fairly certain I will be fine with a 4-link and putting **** in the bed or towing a small trailer.

@meatwad Does it come with new shocks and springs or is that separate?

Either way I believe, I got the kit without. Ridetech offers both coilover and airspring options in the different versions of the kit. Since I already had viking coilovers in front, I elected to stay with Viking shocks as they are double adjustable and can be had through Atomic. I enjoy giving Richard money whenever possible. Plus, it was easy to get the Viking shocks to work on the ridetech hardware.

Springs are up to you. Ridetech includes a spring their coilover I think. As I used eibach springs in front (only company with the spring rate we came up with) so I stuck with them in back. Hence the bright red!

I don’t tow but do not think it would be an issue. I hauled all my spare parts from the install home. Control arms, cv axles, leaf springs, chunk of exhaust etc and didn’t seem to phase the rear.
