Default 4 link / Mini tub in the works

So after taking my truck to the las vegas motor speedway , and realizing that it was just a big waste of time cause i knew there was no way of my truck hookin up cough cough ( 13.80 @ 98 )! The morning after the night at the strip i started doing alot of thinking , not wanting to totally tub it, but be able to shove 12-14 inch wide rims and maybe some 335's i started getting excited about the whole idea . We dont have that many hooked up ls trucks out here in vegas so i figured i would try something that i personaly have never seen on my body style ! Now this might sound odd , but with money being short these days and working at an off-road shop here in vegas that specializes in lifting jeeps and anything else . i started finding pieces and parts around the shop that looked like to me that would work great , starting with uppers and lower control arms off a 2009 jeep jk rubicon :O) .... well needless to say alot off math and measuring has gone into what seems to be one of the hardest projects i have gotten into on my truck EVER . but i know it will all come out great ! pictures and step by step will be coming soon !

What all have you tried prior to deciding on this setup? There's sevral members cutting 1.5x short times on leafs and 10 in wheels/tires... No doubt it will be cool, but maybe not 100% needed IMO

well the major reason for wanting to do this is when i stall my truck up and launch it the axle smacks the frame and rides the whole way down the track ! i ran my truck with slicks before i got the engine in !! but have not done it since ! the last time at the track i just had my street tire's on 265-70-17 <<--- poooooo ! and the other reason is i like the way a fattty tire looks in the back . I'm also in the position at my work to be able to do all of this for under 700 bucks with wheels and tires !!! soooooo

could be done cheaper with some long bars and a cnotch kit. but if you wanna 4link it go for it.

C-notch your frame, add long bars or caltracs, and some slicks that should help your traction problems. 4 link is not needed

that sort of suspension upgrade is def. Overkill for your power level.
In reality you want to hook up on the narrowest tire possible to achieve the best ET.

I manage 1.5x short times with stock suspension and 10.5 slicks.

No need to four link.. Do it the poor mans way.. I am thinking about doing it like this.. You need to take out the fuel tank to run a 4 link, so you need a cell.. Take the leaf springs and mount them on the inside of the frame rails, and run cal trac bars.. Then you can have a cheap route, be able to run wide tires... Might sound dumb but i have seen alot of mopar done like this with great results..

mine did this and broke a u joint.... caltracs fixed this problem perfectly without C notching..... now it hooks up evertime and no hopping or hitting the frame...
