Is a 4-link worth it?
I'm pulling off my leaf springs in attemp to make my truck more auto-cross friendly and also hook better at the strip/street and have settled on converting the truck suspension to coil-overs. I originally was thinking in addition, adding a pair of ladderbars would be enough to round out the suspension but a friend has been suggesting I invest in a 4-link set-up instead(with coil-overs). If there's one area of these trucks I shy away from other than transmissions it's suspension.
I haven't done much research but I've run across these two different products

I've done my own wrenching the last 3 years because I grew tired and wary of shops but at this point in my life I have to rely on a shop once again. So not only will I have no control over this but I'll also be out of town for the install. So whatever I chose in the next few days is what I'm stuck with so any advice on this from you guys is welcome. I just don't want to be stuck in a situation where I feel like i went in the wrong direction.

A 4 link will def help you hook better, with the edition of a sway/ panhard bar will corner even better. However if you set it up for cornering it will prob not be the best as far as hooking up. More then likely you will need to find a happy median. I would think in any config it should hook better then old clamped leaf springs.

Are you goin to do a good sway bar in the rear also?
That should help some?
Im gonna 4 link front and rear on my samurai but quite the opposite as to why your doin yours. Im after lots of suspension travel
What kinda shock/coilover/air bag setup you plannin on?

I'm not looking for the best and most expensive nor am I looking for the cheapest and flimsiest. What's a good quality product with a solid rep that also doesn't break the bank?

If you do the coilover setup, and you are relying on a shop, John at DBrods is the man. The guy does insanely great work and it's worth the money IMO. Plus, I can go test drive your truck while you're still at sea! hahaha

Alex, I'm leaving in 1hr and will be gone for 5 weeks. Theres no way I can get my truck out to Austin Texas and have it back to me by the time I get home. And as much as I like and admire his work it's a little $$ for what I intend to do and my timeline isn't very flexible unfortunately.

Just some good 1.5" .120 wall DOM with some quality Rod ends.
You should have roughly 1" adjusbility if they use 3/4" rod ends. So 2" total in each direction.
Just gonna have to play with the different settings to get it to hook how you wamt amd to dial in the pinion angle.
And if you run a good coil over, you can put a set of helper bags on it to tow your bike and keep riding smooth.
