Question 4" Rear Drop?

Do I have to change my rear shocks with a 4" drop? I am just doing shackles and removing the spring blocks. My truck is 4WD but I don't see why that would matter. Thanks for any help.

I'm running stockers on shock extenders right now with my 2/4 drop, but I'm gonna be getting some drop shocks (prolly some Edelbrock IAS) here real soon. Not cause the ride sucks or anything, but I can tell from driving it that the valving in the stock shocks can't control the heavier rate springs from Hotchkis very well.

i ran my stockers on my 2/4 drop for about 10k miles no problems... id eventually change them. you could probably just buy a set of stock 2wd shocks and youd be fine. ill look and see if i still have mine if your interested, no charge, i can give them to you at the track meet comin up

I hated my stockers on a 4" drop. too sqwishy. I got some doetch tech(spelling?) for 90 bucks for the rear shipped from the company and have never been happier. Its worth the extra imo.

If you don't carry heavy weight in the bed you should be fine with your stock shocks. They will be close to the top of their travel though so if you plan to carry anything heavy in the bed and you have cut your bump stops you should probably switch to the two wheel drive shocks to be safe.

Yes cut or get smaller bump stops. I have tiny ones and they still bang every now and then. Static drops get kinda rough riding.
