Default 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive...

well, I found out that im gunna need 2 new cv front axels, 2 front new hubs, and need to get the front diff rebuilt...

Then I thought about it, and I do wanna do some other things rather then just blow money on front crap...

Can I pull the front cv axels, and throw some 2 wheel drive hubs on there? along with just removing the front drive shaft?

I don't think so, I think you need the actual 2wd Front Knuckles/Spindels...

The 2wd hubs will work, but you'll have to remove the transfer case and replace the transmission with a 2wd one also as the output shafts of 2 and 4x4 are different. I'd imagine that you'd also have to get a 2wd BCM and possibly have some tuning done to the pcm to keep from throwing a "service 4wd" light.

Wouldn't you spend just as much replacing the 4x4 hubs with 2wd hubs? Why would you have to rebuild the frontend if you don't engage it? Seems to me you would spend about the same to keep it 4x4 and hold off on the diff rebuild until you had the funds together to do it.
