No, I really don't get on it very often. Usually once or twice a month at the drag strip. Heck I was cruising with cruise control on when it went out.

They offer a warranty and why aren't they using billet shafts????

I build tranny's and I would never offer a performance 4L anything....The trans is anemic. INSIDE and OUT!!

Was it a performabuilt 2 like in your sig. You seem to avoid that question? In some of your previous threads you talk about a local builder was looking at it when you were having problems last year but nothing about performabuilt. I was just curious im saving some money for one myself and haven't heard anything but positive feedback!

Sorry boss, I didn't mean to avoid the question. Yes, it's a Performabuilt Lv2. Yes I had a local guy rebuild it last time. New input shaft and drum. Just couldn't afford to send it back. Couldn't do it now anyways as the warranty is up. I would recommend one in a heart beat. I just have bad luck with my stuff. I seem to be one of the few with a very mild set up having these problems. So I don't blame them, I blame myself for staying with a 4L60E.

Well if you broke a lvl 2 with a stock 4.8 twice, that's beyond me.

Eh I'm just going to treat it like I do with my Hand Loads. Every time I do something wrong, I stop, take a breath, and do it right the next time.

You might want to make sure that your torque converter clutch is not applied while the trans shifts. It seems to me that this is the #1 killer of input shafts and is very hard on any transmissions internal parts. HTH Vince

Don't quote me but I think I read something about performabuilt NOT using billit input shafts for a reason. Vince has great at trans advice ......he could be on to why they arn't really needed.
