Did it break during a 1-2 shift?
I have a 4l60e in my 10.22 camaro, I have built several 4l60e's for cars running 11's, some on nitrous. I have a 4l60e in my dodge ram, but its still a stock LS1 that runs 14.0 @ 4300lbs.
How much power are you putting down? IMO you shouldn't have input drum issues until after 400rwhp in a heavy 5000lb vehicle. I wonder if it shifts to hard into 2nd gear? You can soften the 1-2 shift and still not have band failure , and will take alot of load off the internal parts.

If you want to try the 60e again I would use the standand width carbon band from patc, and only drill the 2nd gear feed hole to .093, should allow a quick firm shift, but not to hard.

Same here, had 2 F-bodies in the 10's on STOCK 60e' then finally built them....YES i know they are lighter, but my truck in sig still has BONE STOCK 119k mile tranny behind a turbo motor and does fine... Probably wont go a whole lot longer but ill build it when it goes for around 500.00 and try again.

Both my total failures with the 60s was a way to harsh 1-2 shift. The other were valve body issues.
The 80e stock with the HD2 has been my ticket tho. Good peice of mind to have it under there to.

No impact no idea bud. I've been asking myself the same thing. The 1-2 shift isn't harsh. Firmer than stock but not neck snapping. I would just get another 4l60e and get a mild build on it, but I just don't trust that trans anymore.
