There is a lot of smoke and mirrors in that advertisement IMO. Skeet PATC does not make that gear set and the first generation of these had issues. They have been revised and are working OK as far as I know. I did install a couple of sets of these while working for my previous employer. Also I know who the guy is that made these and I'm not sure if he is still going to make them for PATC or if he is going to continue to make them at all. The car mentioned above I'm pretty sure is running this gear set and I believe he had a failure with the first generation. This car has been knocking on the 8.9x door for sometime now and its great to see it finally happened.

The 3-4 clutch is the week link in these units IMO.

Skeet..

What stall do you have with your set up? You know I still have my Vig 3400 and I'm shooting towards the beginning of the year to strengthen my Stg 4. And input?

I hit my 4600# truck with a good amount of Nitrous out of the hole, 200-250 or more, and spin it north of 7000rpm. 1.5x 60's and still hope to drop some. Just a well built 4L60e with all the good parts that were available a couple years ago

a bastard PI 4k reworked by chris at cirlce D its a 4600 now which i hadnt yet to try out, i think this is gonna be the icing on the cake to go mid to deep 10s NA in cool weather, personally i dont think you need a refresher on the level 4, she should hold up just fine. then again i dont kno about FLT transmissions or what parts are used in the level 4

Yep. Using a Nitrous outlet 78mm plate. I do use a controller but I'm all in around .7-.8. I'm pretty confident with a 29.5x10.5 I could leave on it all.

i used to hit a 100 outta the hole, on a 3600 stall, then grabbed another 100, on a built 60e for almost a year, ended up trading it for a stock 80e, now im back to a built AWD 65e so we shall see.

did you get any track times with the 60e setup vs the 80e setup?

I had both transmission in my shop at one point

4l60e 138lbs
4l80e 188lbs

both were weighed without converters, I'm sure the 80e converter is on average 10lbs heavier? stock for stock or even stat for stall??

ran an 11.8 with the 60e, but with the 80e i could never get it to make a full pass on the nitrous(tuning issue) best i could get was a 12.0, but i did run a 7.40 1/8th, when all i could muster in the 60e was a 7.52, the 80e. shifted into 3rd at almost exactly 660' @90mph

There are some pretty quick B-bodies in this thread. these B-bodies weigh more than some trucks.

How much torque can a 700R4 handle?

This guy now pushes 4l80e to 4l60e swaps.

Edit, The guy in the thread I listed actually laughs at the Sonnax Smartshell, and I see that FLT is using it now over the "Beast".

Any comments??

peace
