Default 4l60e 165,000mi too late to mod?

My stocker on my truck, in my sig has 165,000 miles. I don't have any codes popped up but I'm not sure the TC is locking. At 70mph with 265/75/16 tires, 3.73s, and the stock 60E with the computer re-calibrated for the tires I'm turning 22-2300 RPM.

Is it too late to start beefing up the 60E or is it too far gone? I plan to keep the tune stock.

Here is what I was thinking...
Transgo HD2
.490 or .500 boost valve
Sonnax pinless accumulator pistons
Torlon Checkballs
Vette Servo

Possible- Vaccuum modulator (don't know too much about it, does the trans have to be removed from vehicle to install, if that's the case it's not happening)

What do you think VinceB?

It's on borrowed time. I'd bet your 3-4 clutch pack is almost done, by your description.

Oh and I get 14-15 MPG no matter how I drive or if it's all highway or not.

Honestly I would probably wait and not do upgrades at this point and time. If you feel like you are having an issue then there are some things that can be done to help it along. However with the mileage like mentioned above its on borrowed time. Vince

Yeah the 3-4 pack is on its last leg if you do much hwy driving. Mine was toast after 100k with a hypercrap hand held tune, CAI, flowmaster, and a shift kit. I would start looking for a new trans if you want to start modding.

I've got 181K on my factory 60E, justin from BB was saying I should rebuild it until he saw the line pressure when he did my tune...changed his mind and was surprised about its good condition. Never too late to start modding!

Vette servo is only $16 and takes an hour to put in yourself. But beyond that, I wouldn't put more money into it.

I agree.. just do a vette servo and save up for a rebuild, then put the goodies in it.

I've got the servo, but can't get the cover off to install, it's stuck. Currently soaking with Liquid wrench to see if it will loosen her up.

Every servo swap that ive done had the cover hang up on the old oring. I just cut it and the cover would come off easier. Maybe thats your problem?
