The TC arrived today from Circle D. I have a new filter kit and front seal for the 4l65e and should begin the swap wednesday after work.
If that goes well then i'll most likely get the motor swapped out as well.

Discovered that the GTO has been in a fire. which would account for the discoloration on the case that I originally thought was caked on oil/stains.
The plug for the wiring harness is melted just enough. Nothing inside smells of being burnt. At this point I can't tell if any of the seals inside are melted or anything.
I only hope that there isn't any serious damage and that the wiring harness can be swapped out without having a trans shop do it. I.e., special tools and knowledge. Although it does seem that the valve body needs to be removed to get the plug out.

The trans is going back to the junkyard and a replacement will be sent out Monday. Supposedly the replacement is also a 65e and has 33k on it.
I bet it won't have a trans-go shift kit in it like the fire one does. That was a pleasant find. Too bad it's going back.

The replacement non-fire transmission arrived friday. The trans in the truck lost everything except 1st and reverse saturday afternoon. As of yesterday, the new trans is in the truck along with a Circle D 3000 stall TC and a Vette 2/4 servo.
I've never driven a high stall TC before but this new trans combo feels like I'm running in water when getting started. Should it feel like this?
The check engine light came on after about 20 miles on it. Pulling the code today after work and keeping fingers crossed the two aren't related.
