That is the same thing I am doing. I was just going to cut the white and brown wires at the connector, swap and splice back together. How difficult is it to remove the wires from the trans connector and switch them that way? I don't want to screw up the connector.
As for the additional VSS connector, I went to the local Pick-N-Pull and cut one off another truck for $1. Dealer wanted $39 for it new.

its very easy to pull the wires out and move them.. my buddy did it for me while I was puttin the shift kit in... if he can do it anybody can! haha..
just take your time.
also when pushing the pins in the PCM connector remove the colored covers for a less stressful install..

BTW...The PCM connectors are also Micropaks.
