Default 4l60e build, need some help

so I know there are a lot of threads out there on how to build a nice 4l60e. But I couldn't find one with a set parts list to make a tough 4l60e. If anyone knows of one please post the link. Otherwise I am hoping someone on here can give me a full parts list I would need to build the 4l60e in my 05 1500 z71 to handle lets say up to 500hp. The truck is my daily driver so I probably will pick up a used trans to build up then swap in when done. The truck as I stated is my daily driver, ocasionaly some light towing, some off roading (truck has 2.5'' lift and 33 inch tires), and I like to take it down the 1/4 mile at a local drag strip. So it has to be able to hold up to some abuse. The 5.3 l33 engine will soon b cammed and a high stall converter (nothing a mild built 4l60e shouldn't be able to handle). And no, I am not looking to do a 4l80e swap... atleast for now, maybe down the road if I do forced induction. thanks guys!!!

The Sonnax Power pack kit comes with alot of good parts. Its similar to an HD2 kit with out drill bits and hardened pump rings. It also does not come with the heavy release springs in the transgo 7CS kit.

So far with the exception of the hardened pump rings and the release springs in the 7CS kit, I have not used anything else from the HD2 kit. I also have not gotten to the valve body side of things either.

Ever part in the Sonnax Power pack kit has the equivalent or stronger parts inside. It also comes with some other neat little goodies.

You can read up on the Sonnax parts on their web site. 4L65-E - Sonnax

The 9 clutches in the 3-4 clutch pack is debatable. Some say it works while other say there to thin and don't work.

There are a few different variations of the modified 3-4 clutch pack so go with what ever you feel works best.

The smart housing is a nice piece. Personally I am tired of dumping money into the 4l60E So I had to stop some where. The billet rear shaft seems to be common on alot of builders list. I know on a 4x4 there critical to it's survival.

There are a few other neat parts out there like the New HD center support case saver from Adapt a case. A74761DAC

At some point I will probably go to a 4L80E and be done with it altogether.

Def a nice piece, i didn't realize it cost so much though haha. I'm crossing it off my list. I'm in the same boat as you, eventually will go with a 4l80e once i slap a TVS1900 on it, but for the time being just need a budget built trans that still has good parts in it. It's not going behind huge power, so thats an advantage for me. I also decided against the 5 planetary setup and just run the stock 4 setup. What clutch setup would you recommend/ have heard works really well?

I have heard all sorts of things. 1 person says something works and its the be all end all to the issue and then some one else comes out and says that it burns up faster then a factory set.

I have a felling it all has to do with the clearances and how you modify the Hydraulics.

What ever you chose, follow the what ever recommendations are set forth by the product or what other users recommended it as an upgrade.

You can find used set's of 5 pinion planetaries through core suppliers for less money.
