4l60E converter recommendations

@circle D. Does the 2600-2800 rpm version have good lockup on the highway?

my truck is real light, and i only drive it about once a week. rarely even stomp the pedal, but i like the get up and go when i need it. also, i only tow a small 5x8 trailer with my 4 wheeler on it , once in a blue moon

Both the 278mm 1A 2600-2800 and the 2A 3000-3200 have a full size 12" lock up clutch, so lock up is equal or better than stock - no worries there. The 1A is going to be very close to the TB converter you have now. So if you like that then go 1A, if you are looking for a little more, then go with the 2A. Same price either way...

I followed Chris's advice and went with the 278mm 3200 rpm converter. One of the best performance mods I've ever invested my money in. Of course I also installed a Dearl deep 2+ quart pan and 40k gvw TrueCool cooler in series with radiator and 180* therm. No problem towing and I haven't been able to get it hotter than 175* in traffic on a hot summer day.

I'm also considering installing a transbrake for a little something extra to help the big girl out of the hole.
