Default 4L60E floor shifter??

I know some of you guys run them with your bench seats or bucket seats with no console, but does anyone know of a shifter that could be made to work with the "full" Tahoe type console??? its the 99-02 type. I really would like to do this mod this summer. I could have a shifter boot made locally if I needed to.

search for SilverWhistler, he has sold the truck he did this to but there are some pics of it on here. he made a custom fiberglass console that held a 12" sub in the back and had a B&M quicksilver shifter where a shifter would normally be, you could probably make it work for a tahoe console

looked REALLY good when he got done with it

I keep thinking of his truck when I start thinking about ways to go about doing this... I really would like to keep the stock console though. I dont want to have to build a fiberglass or MDF console and have it look like **** 4 years later... and not really be what I want to begin with LOL... I like the stock one, I just want the shifter there, instead of the column. I'll cover the hole in the column with a trim piece off a manual trans truck...

since its just a cable that goes to the shifter, im sure a mounting bracket to put the shifter where you want it, in a stock console, wouldnt be too awful hard to make.

btw, are you using a 99-02 console or swapping to a 03-06 console

I was wanting to keep the 99-02 that came in the truck.. if I had to switch the cupholders or something to the 03-06 style I dont think it would be a huge deal... I really would like to get a floor shifter though. I'm guessing by his thread any 700-R4 shifter would work
