Well the inevitable happen to my tahoe today...pull away from a stopsign and Bam..then BAM again...talk about slipping..anyways since it's going to be apart I spoke to the shop doing the work(local) and he mentioned ProTorque converters they are out of New York, anyone ever hear of them??He will install any converter of my choice, but wanted to see about the company he uses the most of.

Never heard of them, doesn't mean they aren't good. I would look into them before investing though

You just have bolt ons on a 2007 and it blew? How many miles on it?

It has the factory aux. trans cooler...will definetly be upgraded to a 40k. Truck has 62k on it was an early build Feb. '06 date. I think it has something to do with having a vette servo w/Sonnax 4th gear combined with a very aggressive BlackBear tune with all TM removed in all tables except TCS torque reduction by spark option and by throttle option along with spinning it up to 6200rpm.

Ohh okay. Yeah mine is the same, its a 06 build also. My tune is about the same as yours too, No TM on the engine tune but about 30% in the trans tune. I dont have a Sonnax 4th but I do have a vette 2nd gear servo. Truck is getting near 45k, 3 trans fluid changes, and a 40k cooler. Well see how long it last haha
Let me know what broke when you get it apart!

Just by messing with it when I parked it, looks like 3rd and 4th gear clutchs are toasted, won't know what else until its apart.

Yeah, my 2nd and 3rd gear clutches were slipping pretty bad with just muffler, CAI and tune (no servos or 40k cooler) because I unknowingly had all of my TM removed in my tune even though I asked for 75% removed. Tuner was wait4me. After the trans was rebuilt under warranty, luckily, changed tuners to Wheatley and never had a trans problem since and am probably pushing 100+ more to the rear wheels now.

Just spoke with my trans. shop this morning, going to build this thing up pretty stout, hardened input/output shafts, sonnax valve body, red or blue 3-4clutches with extra bands on 3rd, new tans for 1-2, transgo HD2, vette servo, sonnax 4th gear superhold, Beast sunshell, upgrade sprags, 2600-2800 stall, new trans. cooler, etc. I am sure I missed something, this thing should put some power to the wheels and pull like a champ.
