Default 4l60e issues

did a little searching couldn't find exactly my issues....

drove my truck 30ish miles earlier today to my buddies trans worked fine. when i left the trans had 1st and second and they hold fine...but when it tries to shift into 3rd it will only grab above 2500rpm and i have no 4th. when i was about 1/4mile from home i tried to manual shift into 3rd and went in no problem and 4th as well no problem. i then slowed down to 10-15mph left it in D and it again would not shift into 3rd except for above 2500rpm and no 4th and i tried again to manual shift and didn't work...

ideas?

Sounds like you are having an internal transmission failure. If I had to guess the 3-4 clutch is on the way out. Vince

You could scan it for codes to see what is present and maybe you'll get lucky and it's something simple. At which point dropping the pan to do a visual inspection while doing any repairs will be required. If the pan is full of debris it will need to be overhauled. Vince

fluid smells a little burnt..not to bad. like i said no signs of anything wrong until last night so something let go causing 3rd to slip until 2500rpm. so it sits until i can find money to fix it.

pulled transmission last night and when i cracked the tcase from trans i noticed i will need a new rear seal. Today i pulled the valve body apart everything looks good except for the 1-2 accum piston is starting to crack. I have the transgo hd2 shiftkit in it already so im hoping putting in the ALTO 3-4 clutch 9 pack will hold me until i can get a FLT

got it all apart looking at the 3-4 clutches..i dont know how thick they are supposed to be but they seem to look alright...but im not 100% sure what is good and bad as they only slipped on me for 10min or so before i put it in 2nd and drove home like that..so i sure hope new clutches fixes this and it is nothing else

so yeah edit cuz i r retard...helps if you pull the right clutch packs out lol..yes infact the 3-4 is gone
