Default 4l60e partial slipping issue

have a problem with 4l60e in 2005 astro van. When shifting into 3rd the motor revs up about 500rpm as if it is slipping and then goes into third. Any idea what could be causing the problem? 3rd and 4th clutches been replaced and the valve body been replaced as well.

i guess it's called 2-3 flare. I adjusted the force motor and got it to shift without flaring at moderate throttle, it still flares at WOT. This is not a fix tho and looks like it's loosing pressure for 2-3 shift somewhere. Wondering if anybody knows that could be causing the problem?

3-4's are on their way out. It just needs to be disassembled to find the route cause.

I think you lose 3-4 first to go out then reverse -2nd next

problem was noticed before the 3-4 clutches burned up but was assumed that it was due to the clutches being almost burned up, clutched and the valve body been replaced and once it shifts it holds the gear but flares on the 2-3 shift. Was tested on the bench with compressed air and everything appeared to be working correctly.

hmms same problem after valve body and clutches replaced...what about youre 3-4 shift selenoid ...wouldnt just assume youre losing pressure...

new valve body came with new solenoids and new power valve. I thought maybe the power valve needs to be adjusted but the flare only happens in 2-3 shift. The transmission only has 55k miles on it.

sames symptons as this ? without driving it try youre converter lock up ...<(mostly would flare in every gear but can happen on 3-4)just get to normal driving speed on road say between 40-60 mph and keep youre foot on excellerator at the same speed...then quickly tap youre brake pedal you should feel the same thing its doing now if you have a tack you should see it jump up in rpm -not down at least 2-300 rpm ...thats youre verter unlocking like its supposed to ...if it doesnt do that then youre converter lock up is not working... and could be youre problem ...If not find a shop with a runing scan tool i.e. Snap On running scan and such any tranny guy with diagnostic capibilities will have one ...this wil check all youre solenoids / lock up and everything else ...at least it will tell you where to start

i have hp tuners that i am using on it, i can manually select gears and turn the tcc on with no issues except the flare going from second to third, i adjusted the force motor current down to increase pressure and that dramatically helped the problem but i know that if i have to increase the pressure something is wrong. The first run after replacing the clutches it flared 2-3. Is there certain things i can check without pulling the transmission again to narrow down what is causing the problem?
