Default is a 4l60e strong enough?

im swapping a N/A 5.3 into my s10. it has a few mods like a 228r and 1-3/4 longtubes. the question i have is would a 60e with a vette servo be sufficient enough to handle it. wanna get a circle D 3600 also. my truck is slammed (4/6 drop). i already have an 80e and i feel its a bit overkill for my setup + i want to save weight amap. its a 95 80e.

Should be fine. But I would get a large transmission cooler with the higher stall converter (I personally would get one without it too). Look at the TruCool 40,000 GVW one, cheap insurance.

I would also look at a Transgo HD2 shift kit.

I never had a 4l60e last more than 35K miles....Already have 20K on my 80e and its never missed a beat. It might be a different story in an S10 because it is so light.

No worries. should hold up. may need a performance build in the future, but certainly no need for an 80e!

My 4l60e lasted about 50K behind a 5.7 that made 386rwhp, the rebuild lasted about 3k miles.
