Me and a buddy beefed up my trans a little while ago. On top of the Transgo shift kit and vette servos we did the Transgo hardened seperator plate, pinless fwd accumulator piston,
Pinless 1-2 accumulator piston aluminum 3-4 accumulator piston with new o-ring and a new trans filter.

Found a trans builder who knows how to bring a 4l60e to 4l65e specs. Or if you know how to build get the parts.
Then add GM's better sun-shell.
Then replace all the frictions with better aftermarket pieces from say Borg Warner and wider bands.
Put all this into play with the Sonnax Performance Pack and both of their super hold servos.
Be happy with a stronger tight shifting trans.

Try searching post under my user name to get some details. I absolutely love this setup.
I actually have this bookmarked

yup yup yup i do agree with THE BEAST sun shell weakest part of a 60E the only diffrence between the sonnax and vette servo is the amount of pressure holding the second gear band applys correct me if im wrong but the vette servo applys 19% over stock and the sonnax is 40% over stock

Wow this thread is over a year old, back when I was just a newbie.

Btw, I forgot how much more apply pressure the corvette servo has over stock, but if I remember right the sonnax second gear servo has 18% more apply surface over the corvette servo with the fairbanks super hold servo having 35% more than the corvette servo.

I'm not a fan of the superior servo because of some issues I have seen with driveability when using it. The main issues with it are the fact that they remove the accumulation for 3rd gear and also the spring to keep tension on the pin so the band does not drag. Also coasting downshifts are much more pronounced with this product because of the cushion springs being removed. I feel that the vet servo is just fine for all applications and if you want a little more than use the sonnax. Vince B
